Friday was busy because of preparations for Saturday's event - the Yang Mei Festival. The half day event included a marble game, tea leaves picking contest, a yang mei fruit picking contest and hakka tea making. Looking around, I feel like most of the people are volunteers of some sort. Or maybe part of some group, since they wore similar vests. It was a somewhat disappointing for me, because I didn't find any of the activities exciting at all. There were just too many people in the entire place (more than 300), and a lot of people picked lots of fruits without paying. And I couldn't exactly get mad at them because 1.) I'm not the boss and 2.) They might get the wrong impression about Filipinos. Just imagine my frustration that day. >.<
I wonder why it took me so long to discover my favorite spot in this huge place. My room has the only door that leads to the balcony/ rooftop on the second floor of the house. The entire space is like 6x bigger than my room back home. I just love sitting there and staring at the sky, especially on hot summer nights. I will spend as much time there as possible, since it's something I'll miss when I'm back in Manila.
The balcony and the view from there~ |
Freshly picked peaches - something I'll also miss! |
