Day 33-34: An Uneventful Weekend

Tea production still ongoing!

Saturday was another busy day, while Sunday was relatively quiet. We had a bunch of customers coming to pick fruits and drink tea, and some of them would chat and ask too many questions. Let me share with you their Frequently Asked Questions:
"Where are you from?"
"Are you their daughter/daughter-in-law?"
"What about getting married here?"
"How come you don't look Filipino?"
"How come you can speak Chinese?"
"Will you bring me to the Philippines?"
Taiwanese people are seriously just curious about so many things. I'm getting tired of answering the questions of the customers who I probably won't even see ever again. I think they might even be more chismosa than us Filipinos. They report about EVERYTHING in the news, even popular online videos, calorie count of some food products, and this new pearl milk tea ice cream (which I have yet to try!).

The harvest season is almost over for the yang mei fruit - only the big kind and the crystal kind are left. Auntie estimates that one last week and it's gone. I should eat as much as I can, since I won't be able to eat this when I go back home! I also put some in the freezer so it could eat it as yang mei ice. Not as tasty but still yum! ^^

New Crop: 李子Plums

I also watched the Golden Melody Awards on TV. I only recognized a few celebrities, and even without a lot of performances the entire program took 5 hours because of commercials! >.< Congratulations to Jay Chou for winning Best Mandarin Male Singer and Best Album for The Era! ^^

The past few nights have been really fragrant because of this flower called 夜來香. It's my first time to see it, and I find it amazing! Its flowers only open at night, and the scent is just wonderful. I hope I remember to have a picnic under it (and take a picture at night) before I leave!
