We also had a handful of interesting customers today. There was a group of old people, who I immediately knew were the annoying type the moment they stepped in. I purposefully disappeared into the backyard so I didn't have to hear their bickering. When they left, even Auntie was complaining about them. There was a group of students, some of which were very eager to practice English. They told me I was lucky to have the chance to stay here, when a lot of Taiwanese people don't even know much about making tea or this yang mei fruit. I enjoyed chatting with them, and they even invited me to go play at their house. There was also another ABCish (ABC = American Born Chinese) group that came in a white BMW and designer clothes. I don't know if BMW's just popular in this country, but I see them a lot in this farm.
Friends, hindi lang tayo may Tinikling. Auntie asked me if we use bamboo sticks to dance while we were watching the TV. I thought she was referring to our Tinikling, but it turns out she was asking because they have it here too. o_o
I accidentally dropped two things today - a bowl (because I suddenly remembered the annoying visitors from last Saturday) and a piece of chicken meat during dinner, which Auntie said means that someone will invite/treat me to a meal. (Coincidentally, when I checked my phone and YM later, I saw missed calls and messages from a friend asking if I was free to go out today. LOL)
Uncle just showed me this really fragrant flower. At first I was worried when he said "come with me" because I thought he was going to ask me to do farm duty (at 9pm!). But I felt relieved when he just started explaining that this flower smelled better at dusk and best at night, and even plucked a few pieces for me. I think it's sweet because it's something he would've done if he had his own daughter.
I didn't even notice the scent when I took a picture of it the other day! |
