Day 28: Just Another Day

I was alone for most of the morning since Auntie went out to pay taxes and Uncle was resting. For the rest of the day, I did the usual chores such as helping out with mixing and drying tea leaves, putting stickers on boxes, plucking leaves, watering the plants, packing the yang mei fruit and arranging for delivery service (while watching TV in between ^^). There would also be the occasional visitors who would practice their English skills with me.

Grass jelly that's not from a can!

Oh and for the first time in 27 days, I finally see the little brother studying for an exam. He showed me his previous test papers, and I could only understand so little - it was like comprehension in Chinese. >.<  After listening to him chatting with his friends and stalking looking at his FB page, he doesn't seem to be as innocent anymore. LOL The way he speaks in front of his family is totally different!

The main reason I chose this place for my TN was because I wanted to experience living in a farm. Even though we have chickens and plant some vegetables at home, I've always lived in the city. It's been a long time since I've experienced a quiet, slow-paced life in which I don't have to think about so many things. After spending almost a month here, I can now say that I've lived in a rural area and put another check mark on my to-do list. Now I know that it's really physically tiring and not as redundant as I imagined. Business depends on the weather, it's hard to predict the number of customers in a day and there would sometimes be random things such as a stray dog who would come chase chickens or a neighbor who would share their crops. I also love it that the air is much cleaner and that the sky seems a lot bigger. :)

Too many cucumbers and strange looking ginger!
